NCHENZ - WORDFLYERS

WordFlyers is an English online program, specifically designed for students in Australian Years 7-10 (NZ equivalent is Years 8-11). The program contains hundreds of lessons which teach punctuation, grammar, spelling, vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. WordFlyers contains an international travel theme, which encourages students to complete the units and improve their writing and reading skills.

The subscription begins on 2nd May 2024 and will expire on 29th April 2025.

Late subscribers will be able to access a pro-rata price as follows:

Join to start on 2nd May or any time after that date in Term 2 – $29.50
Join any time during Term 3 for $27.25
Join any time during Term 4 for $22.25
Join any time during Term 1 for $19.00

The expiry date will be 29th April 2025 no matter when you start. Subscriptions may not be set up during the school holidays as our volunteers may be on leave.

Note: This program is designed to be used in schools and does not have a parent report feature or the ability to set assignments for your child. Students work through the pre-set year levels. To see your child’s progress you would need to log in with your child’s username and password to view results and reports.

ENROLMENT PROCESS
Complete the form and then make payment (account details are below). Payment is required by one week prior to start date. Non-payment means you are not enrolled in this program.

To take up this offer you must be a member of NCHENZ and remain a member for the duration of this subscription period. Membership is free and very easy to complete, go to our Family Membership form. If you don’t know your NCHENZ membership number click here to request it. Please wait until you have your membership number before subscribing and ensure you use your membership number, your child’s last name, and “word” as the reference when making payment. The Wordflyers subscription can be used for any child as long as you genuinely intend to home educate that child; any child aged over six years must have a current Exemption Certificate from the Ministry of Education.

You can do one payment for all of the children you are enrolling. Please do separate payments for different programs.

Note, if you make a manual over-the-counter deposit at the bank then please add an additional $3 as this is what the bank charges NCHENZ.

REFUNDS
The NCHENZ policy is not to give refunds if you change your mind after making payment unless there are exceptional circumstances. If you feel you have exceptional reasons for requesting a refund, please write to the NCHENZ Committee at offers@nchenz.org.nz and they will consider your request. NCHENZ will have paid the supplier for your subscription so any refund is dependent on NCHENZ being able to ‘re-sell’ your subscription to another member. This may not be at the same price you paid for the subscription. In the case where a refund is approved, the amount will depend on the ‘re-sale’ price and the price NCHENZ paid the supplier for the subscription. Any refund will be paid to the original payer only and a NZ bank account number must be provided. An administration fee of $6/subscription will be deducted from all refunds.

WHO ADMINISTERS THIS PROGRAM

Gin Taylor manages this program. She is a homeschooling mum in Taupo who volunteers on the NCHENZ Executive Committee. She is not employed by Wordflyers. Every single member of the committee is a volunteer. They all have lives outside of the committee, they all have children they homeschool. Some of the Committee members volunteer within their communities, some have part time jobs or work from home. Be kind to these people, they do an amazing job for all New Zealand home educators.
