StepsWeb is a leading online literacy program used in over 1200 schools in New Zealand.   StepsWeb adapts to each learner to strengthen all of the core skills needed for reading and spelling.

Suitable for ages 5+ through to adults, Stepsweb is evidence based, diagnostic and intuitive, with every activity based on research into how literacy develops. It has a strong emphasis on processing and perceptual skills – catering for all, but ideal for dyslexic and other struggling learners.

The subscription begins on 1st Feb 2024 and expires on 27th Jan 2025.

  • Join to start on 1st Feb or any time after that date in Term 1 – $40.50
  • Join any time during Term 2 for $32.70
  • Join any time during Term 3 for $23.50
  • Join any time during Term 4 for $17.70

The expiry date will be 27th Jan 2025 no matter when you start.

NB>>  This subscription is under an NCHENZ ‘school licence’, with no teacher accounts available to parents in this case.
 

ENROLMENT PROCESS
Complete the form and then make payment (account details are below). Payment is required by one week prior to start date.  Non-payment means you are not enrolled in this program.

To take up this offer you must be a member of NCHENZ and remain a member for the duration of this subscription period. Membership is free and very easy to complete, go to our Family Membership form. If you don’t know your NCHENZ membership number click here to request it. Please wait until you have your membership number before subscribing and ensure you use your membership number, your child’s last name, and “web” as the reference when making payment.  The Stepsweb subscription can be used for a preschooler as long as you genuinely intend to home educate that child; any child aged over six years must have a current Exemption Certificate from the Ministry of Education.

REFERENCE
Your child’s last name with the reference “web” and your NCHENZ membership number
You can do one payment for all of the children you are enrolling.  Please do separate payments for different programs.
NB>> if you make a manual over-the-counter deposit at the bank then please add an additional $3 as this is what the bank charges NCHENZ.

REFUNDS
The NCHENZ policy is not to give refunds if you change your mind after making payment unless there are exceptional circumstances. If you feel you have exceptional reasons for requesting a refund, please write to the NCHENZ Committee at offers@nchenz.org.nz and they will consider your request. NCHENZ will have paid the supplier for your subscription so any refund is dependent on NCHENZ being able to ‘re-sell’ your subscription to another member. This may not be at the same price you paid for the subscription. In the case where a refund is approved, the amount will depend on the ‘re-sale’ price and the price NCHENZ paid the supplier for the subscription. Any refund will be paid to the original payer only and a NZ bank account number must be provided. An administration fee of $6/subscription will be deducted from all refunds.

WHO ADMINISTERS THIS PROGRAM

Gin Taylor manages this program. She is a homeschooling mum in Taupo who volunteers on the NCHENZ Executive Committee. She is not employed by Maths-Whizz. Every single member of the committee is a volunteer. They all have lives outside of the committee, they all have children they homeschool. Some of the Committee members volunteer within their communities, some have part time jobs or work from home. Be kind to these people, they do an amazing job for all New Zealand home educators.

 

MEMBER RECOMMENDATION
The workbook arrived this morning and it looks great! This combined with the online stuff will work really well and be much more like a whole structured literacy approach. I wish I’d used the workbook with the previous level but will continue to get them for each one. It’s exactly what I was looking for and I find steps is priced so much lower than some of the other structured literacy resources. Definitely recommend using the two together.
