Face new challenges, develop new skills, build long lasting friendships and discover new passions through this programme designed specifically for students who are home schooled.
This residential wilderness experience is one you’ll never forget! Limited access to technology with unsurpassable access to the environment creates the ideal backdrop for a programme full of learning and discovery.

How the programme works

Accommodation is at the Hillary Outdoors Education Centre in Karaka Bay in cabins of 4-6 students. The site is supported by communal kitchens, classrooms and lounge spaces. Every participant contributes to camp life through daily duties which include cooking some meals, dishes duty and cleaning.
Some nights are spent away from the Centre on expedition; either camping or utilising a DOC hut.
